Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions at SRI Congress

It was a pleasure to lead yesterday’s panel on Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions at the 2025 Sustainability Research & Innovation Congress in Chicago. Greenleaf Communities NFP and Greenleaf Advisors, LLC convened expert partners to address innovative solutions on climate, water, energy and natural resources challenges. We were honored to celebrate Juneteenth at #SRI2025 along the creativity and energy of Chicago’s arts and music community.

We highlighted how distributed and networked infrastructure solutions (microgrids, nature-based solutions, smart stormwater management, small-scale wastewater recycling, and climate forecasting) can benefit urban, suburban, and rural communities in their efforts to adapt to and mitigate climate change and resource stress.

Katharine Hayhoe’s closing talk resonated deeply with us: Block out the paralyzing Doom and Gloom narrative and rather focus on what we can do to address challenges. Talk about solutions.

In yesterday’s panel we discussed many with Earth Knowledge and Intelligent Generation, which leverage networks, collective intelligence and stakeholder collaboration.

Thank you SRI Congress for the opportunity to highlight pathways towards a healthy and sustainable world; spreading hope and empowering people. Thank you to all the attendees for the inspiring discussions, and please do not hesitate to get in touch for further collaboration.

Thank you to our presenters: John Andersen, Francine van den Brandeler, Katie DeMuro, David Braun, Julia Armstrong D’Agnese, and Frank D’Agnese.
